Your questions answered

Why is Kantar doing this?

The Summit is Kantar’s flagship event exploring the forces and opportunities transforming media measurement. Whilst we planned to come together in Budapest the continued spread of Coronavirus has led us to cancel the in-person event.

We recognise the value our clients hold for The Summit, bringing together the greatest minds in media measurement to help drive the industry forward. In these extraordinary times industry dialogue for cross media audience measurement comes into sharper focus. (Not) The Summit 2020 will be an extraordinary virtual gathering of the leading voices in our industry at a time unlike any other.

I’m getting invitations to lots of webinars whilst working from home – why should I attend? What’s different about this?

(Not) The Summit 2020 is not a webinar series! Leaders from some of the world’s largest advertisers, TV networks, content platforms and agencies will gather in a unique three-day event that attempts to bring the hallmarks of The Summit within the comfort of your own workspace.

As you may have experienced at previous editions of The Summit there will be a mix of formats and interactive sessions designed to further debate and seek answers to some of the industry’s most pertinent questions.

Can my team join in? I think they’d find it beneficial.

(Not) The Summit 2020 follows the same spirit as the in-person event with a carefully constructed programme and participation by invitation only. To maintain a balance of voices from different parts of the industry and an appropriate representation of geographies, invitations should not be forwarded to any other individual. If you have a recommendation of a senior leader / peer in the industry who could contribute to the industry conversation please contact john.mccarthy@kantar.com.

The time is a bit inconvenient for me – can I listen to the presentations afterwards?

In each of the last nine editions of The Summit we have observed ‘Chatham House Rules’ to enable the outputs of the event to be shared afterwards, but for the source of the information or point of view to be undisclosed. We are committed to maintaining the same principles in this extraordinary year and facilitate an open, high quality discussion within a closed environment. In this spirit within a virtual setting we will not be circulating recordings of sessions but will work with presenters to share other materials, including presentations, after the event.

When’s the next “real” Summit?

The Summit will return in 2021, marking our tenth in-person event. Dates will be announced in July 2020.
